Model United Nation / PalMUN

Schmidt-Schule is offering MUN as an After School Activity since 2014.

Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the actual United Nations and gives students interested in global affairs the opportunity to discuss these matters on a diplomatic level. Inspired by their experience, students leave the conference with an increased awareness of political, economic and social issues. Through comprehensive research, resolution writing, and political negotiation, students also gain profound debating and public speaking skills.

Model UN is a simulation of what the United Nations actually does. Students become delegates become ambassadors from UN member states and come up with solutions to the many problems on the UN’s agenda. Delegates debate the issues, make speeches on their counties’ positions, write draft resolutions, negotiate, form alliances and resolve conflict. The goal of Model UN is to initiate and continue “international cooperation.”
